FOURTH FRIDAY INVITES COMMUNITY TO EXPLORE AND CELEBRATE TAMPA’S ARTS & CULTURE SCENE

TAMPA, Fla. (June 28, 2019) – On the Fourth Friday of each month, Tampa’s arts and culture scene is celebrated with participating venues offering free or reduced admissions, special programming, and local restaurants offering specials to patrons with the iconic Fourth Friday wristband. Now in its third year, Fourth Friday, presented by TECO Energy, and brought to you by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, announces its lineup for this month’s event on Friday, June 28.
This month’s Featured Offers are:
Florida Museum of Photographic Arts: Located at 400 N. Ashley Dr. in Downtown Tampa, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts celebrates Fourth Friday from 5-7pm with the opening of their annual International Photography Competition, where the top winners out of over 800 submissions were chosen. Scott Bolendz, a FMoPA Institute photography instructor will also be on hand answering any questions about the Institute, workshops, and anything photography related.
Italian Club: Located at 1731 E. 7th Avenue in Ybor’s Historic District, as the oldest historical leader and the voice of the Italian community in Tampa. The Italian Club celebrates Fourth Friday from 5 -9pm with a special HAVANA NIGHTS event. For this special evening, they welcome Chef Loraine Aguayo of LC's Cafe & Supperclub to prepare a delicious Cuban-inspired meal for $13. Live music is provided by Island Brothers Trio and guests can enjoy cocktail and conversation with a full cash/credit bar featuring Mojitos and Cubra Libres! Jobsite Theater: Located inside the Straz Center, Jobsite Theater is thrilled to celebrate Fourth Friday Tampa this June with $10 off our production of Constellations for performances July 10 and 11. Tickets are available at the Straz Center Box Office window on Fourth Friday. Limit 2 per wristband. This offer is not valid on prior sales and is subject to availability.
John F Germany Library: Located at 900 N. Ashley Dr. in Downtown Tampa, John F. Germany Library celebrates Fourth Friday from 4-6pm. Get ready for the 4th of July with some patriotic crafts. Drop in anytime during the event to try your hand at any of the fun crafts.
Le Méridien Tampa Hotel: Located at 601 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown Tampa, Le Méridien celebrates Fourth Friday with a Tour of the Century starting at 5:30pm, extended happy hour pricing until 8pm, and live music by The House Cats from 6-9pm. All tour attendees get 20% off of dinner – food only – in Bizou after the tour! Bizou mixologists will be offering the Very Berry Mojito for only $8!
The Portico: Located at 1001 N. Florida Avenue, The Portico celebrates Fourth Friday with Open Mic Night from 6-9pm with Endre Blaq, K Delore and Jasey Soulz welcoming local artists to share their talents with downtown Tampa during this special Fourth Friday event. This month’s Fourth Friday also includes a special time to meet our latest featured cafe artist, Teresa Navajo. Take this time meet this proudly self-taught artist that loves working with insects. Her exhibit will be on display through June. Also, beginning at 4pm, buy one specialty coffee drink and receive a free muffin!
Rialto Theatre: Located at 1617 N Franklin Street in Tampa Heights, the Rialto celebrates Fourth Friday from 6- 9pm with a Gallery Reception featuring solo exhibit by Dustin Goolsby. Complimentary refreshments.
Straz Center: Located at 1010 N Macinnes Place in Downtown Tampa, the Straz Center celebrates Fourth Friday by offering discounts to two different performances happening in the month of July. Offers are available for select seating. Stop by the ticket window on Fourth Friday and receive $5 off the July 6-7th performances of Patel Conservatory presents Newsies. Limit of 2. Also, enjoy $20 off the July 9-14 performances of The Lightning Thief. Limit of 4.
Tampa Museum of Art: Located at 120 W Gasparilla Plaza in Downtown Tampa, The Museum celebrates Fourth Friday from 4 – 8pm with pay-as-you-will admission* and self-guided tours. From 5-8p, Happy Hour on the River…Enjoy the Riverwalk Café at TMA by SaltBlock Hospitality featuring specialty Riverwalk Café cocktails to “stroll and go” along the Riverwalk. Special 10% discount at the Museum Store too!
Tampa Theatre: Tampa Theatre: Located at 711 N. Franklin St. in Downtown Tampa, the Theatre’s lobby will be open for guests from 4:30pm-6:30pm for their Pause Happy Hour featuring great drink specials, including their signature Marquee cocktail. Free 10-minute mini-tours will also run during the Happy Hour. Following Pause Happy Hour the film Pavarotti (2019) will screen at 7:30pm, with theatre doors opening at 7:00pm (film tickets is required). Pavarotti, the new documentary features never-before-seen footage, concert performances and intimate interviews examining the life and career of towering cultural figure Luciano Pavarotti.

Glazer Children’s Museum: Located at 110 W Gasparilla Plaza on the edge of Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, GCM celebrates Fourth Friday from 5:30 to 7:30pm with Fourth Friday Drop-Off Camp. Drop your kids off at GCM then enjoy your evening downtown with all that Fourth Fridays have to offer! Your little learners will imagine, discover, and connect to the world around them at Camp Imagination. Pick up a wristband and let the kids play! Presale $25 for the first child, $20 for each additional child in a household. At the Door $35 for the first child, $30 for each additional child in a household. Please note: Presale Registration ends at 11:59pm on the Thursday before Fourth Friday. After 12am on Fourth Friday, ONLY At the Door tickets will be available upon arrival. At the Door registration will be available until 6:30pm.
Henry B. Plant Museum: Located at 401 W. Kennedy Blvd. on the University of Tampa campus, the Museum celebrates Fourth Friday from 4-5pm with free admission and audio tours.
Unlock Tampa Bay Visitors Center: Located at 201 N Franklin St., Suite 102 in Tampa City Center, the visitors center celebrates Fourth Friday from 4-8:30pm. The location on the ground floor exterior of Tampa City Center is the perfect spot to stop in for a shirt, artwork or other gift that shows your Tampa Bay pride! Join us each Fourth Friday as we extend our hours into the night, turning the Visitors Center into a vibrant meet-up spot for your Friday night adventure! While browsing our Tampa-centric shop, sample our private label lager and IPA beers, and then meet and greet with our favorite local artisans and entrepreneurs as they show off their favorite work. Step outside into Poe Plaza for Mixed Emojis Comedy presents, Team Comoji! Team Comoji is an improv comedy group that performs in the Tampa Bay area. Their brand of fast-paced, high-energy entertainment uses audience suggestions to create family-friendly shows that will keep you laughing and smiling!
